This Website Is

A Designed Prototype

This is our ongoing audio, visual, and literary documentation platform that affirms all naturally strong women experiencing complex personhood, gender inequality, visual discrimination, misogyny or social alienation as a unique demographic.

Presenting A Dominant Narrative

We document a population of womyn, who have managed to retain their natural posture of strength and maintain their overall human expression.

The societal construct of male or female does not apply to the complexity of their personhood.

They don’t subscribe to the traditional institution classification of the masculine or feminine binary.

This energy can sometimes physically translate into a male costume or a mannerism that’s considered unbecoming or un-lady-like or too aggressive when applied to the societal definitions in regard to womyn.

We Reject Religious Dogma, and Cultural Bias

Many of these individuals have become outcasts of societal “norms” which brings with it a gambit of discrimination.

Historically, these expectations are reinforced by religious dogma, cultural biases, and/or self-centered fear resulting in emotional, mental, and physical aggression towards people who display an expression of gender variance, nonconformity or whose gender identity is incongruent with their birth sex.

Whether out of convenience or fear, the facts state that these individuals remain in a societal, “blind spot”.

We Are Not Concerned With Sexual Preferences

This project is an ongoing media documentation of non-traditional masculine presenting womyn who despite societal fundamental restrictions retain a natural posture of strength.

We are responsible for creating media platforms so that they may express, in their own words, their experiences, strengths, fears, and hopes for the future.

We Tell Our Own Stories

We are responsible for creating media platforms so that these individuals and groups may express, (in their own words) their experiences, strengths, fears, and hopes for the future.

MasculineUs Project has given voice to hundreds of underserved, marginalized people who occupy a societal blind spot.

The perspective of mainstream media that is usually broadcast regarding non-traditional, naturally masculine presenting womyn is largely negative and is part of a larger caste system that is designed and functions to marginalize and ostracize these

We do this by continuing to produce and present for consideration, positive stories and images of naturally masculine presenting womyn who are not seen in mainstream media.

We Want To Be Safe

As we take our seat at communal tables to share our perspectives and to continue contributing to the communities that they live in.

Just as other individuals, melanated masculine womyn navigate many life challenges and struggles.

We have survived, endured, and continue to show up and do our part for the communities we live in

Universal Declaration Of Human Rights, Article 6

Everyone has the right to recognition anywhere as a person before the law.

If an individual is not recognized as a person under the law, then numerous rights, including one’s safety, will continue to be compromised.

With exception of our ongoing data and collection of documentations, at this time we are not aware of any demographic information or statistics available regarding naturally masculine presenting womyn of color that chronicles their individual existence in modern day society.
